4impact Capital Closes €68M Second Fund to Boost European Climate and Social Impact Innovation

The Hague-based venture capital firm secures significant backing from the European Investment Fund and Invest-NL to drive sustainable and inclusive tech across Europe
The Hague, Netherlands, [November 2024] – The Dutch venture capital firm 4impact Capital has successfully closed its second fund at €68 million, with major support from the European Investment Fund (EIF) and Invest-NL. The fund, known as “Fund II,” aims to accelerate Europe’s sustainable future by investing in approximately 25 innovative software companies, primarily focused on climate technology, social inclusion, health, and wellbeing.
The fund received €17.5 million from the EIF and €7.5 million from Invest-NL as part of the Dutch Future Fund II initiative, a collaborative effort to support the region’s innovation landscape. Marjut Falkstedt, CEO of the European Investment Fund, commented, “Europe faces a gap in innovation financing, making it crucial to support transformative small businesses that can thrive and expand within Europe. 4impact Capital’s mission to empower impactful startups aligns well with our goal to foster innovation that adds both social and environmental value.”
Investment Focus and Vision
Fund II will target Seed to Series A investments in scalable software-driven solutions that combine strong financial returns with social and environmental impact. The fund plans to dedicate at least 20 percent of its investments within the Netherlands, with a broader reach across the Benelux, DACH, and Nordic regions. Since its initial close in 2023, Fund II has already invested in six transformative companies, including notable ventures such as Coolgradient, Deftpower, and Carbonfuture.
