Montenegro-based Buddy.ai, an AI-driven tutoring app designed to provide one-on-one education for children, has secured €10.2 million in seed funding, bringing its total capital to €12 million. Leading the round is BITKRAFT Ventures, an investment firm specializing in gaming and interactive media, with contributions from Educapital, One Way Ventures, J Ventures, Point72 Ventures, and Goodwater Capital. Esteemed angel investors, including the co-founder of Oculus and key figures from Riot Games, also participated.

Buddy.ai aims to address the global shortage of educators by offering an affordable and scalable AI-based solution for teaching English and early learning concepts. Through Buddy the Robot, an interactive and voice-activated character, children engage in a personalized learning journey tailored to their pace and designed to maximize engagement. The app, which incorporates a unique speech recognition system developed specifically for young voices, has already garnered over 25,000 hours of children’s speech data to ensure accuracy and child safety.

According to CEO and Co-founder Ivan Crewkov, Buddy.ai was inspired by his daughter’s challenges as an immigrant learning a new language. The platform aims to democratize access to high-quality education for children worldwide, with future plans to introduce additional subjects and establish partnerships with educational institutions.

With this new funding, Buddy.ai intends to enhance its technology, expand its game-based learning modules, and deepen its partnerships, paving the way for a new era in affordable, interactive education.
